Hajto setback for Schalke

Hajto setback for Schalke

Poland and FC Schalke 04 defender Tomasz Hajto will be out for up to a month with an injured heel.

New deal
The 29-year-old, who this week extended his contract with the German club until 2005, is likely to miss Poland’s friendly against Northern Ireland on 13 February in Cyprus and the re-start to the 1. Bundesliga after the winter break.

Injury relapse
The player initially hurt his right heel on 9 December against Hertha BSC Berlin. After a few weeks of rest, he returned to play 20 minutes of Schalke’s friendly with Brøndby IF last week before suffering a relapse.
