Hertha complete Karwan deal

Hertha BSC Berlin have signed Polish international Bartosz Karwan from Legia Warszawa.

Competition from Schalke
Hertha overcame competition from 1. Bundesliga rivals FC Schalke 04 to bring the 26-year-old midfield player to the Olympiastadion for €500,000. The transfer fee had been a condition of the player’s recent contract extension with Legia. “Bartosz Karwan will be playing for us as from 1 July,” confirmed Hertha general manager Dieter Hoeness.
