Two goals from Polish international Marek Saganowski allowed Southampton FC to defeat Preston North End 3:1 (3:0).
“All the credit must go to Marek Saganowski, Jason Euell and David McGoldrick up front,” Southampton boss Mark Wotte told the Daily Echo. “They worked their socks off every second of the match and it makes life easy for the midfielders.” added Wotte who had much to praise about Saganowski. The clinical striker first put the Saints two up with a cool half-volley from the edge of the area. With ten minutes of the first half to go, the Saints were still dominating possession and further extended their lead in the 41th minute, with a great piece of play from the Pole.
Saganowski who this season has returned back from Danish outfit, Aab Aalborg on loan is looking to help his side avoid relegation. The English club currently sits second last in 23rd place in the Coca Cola Championship League, a spot ‘Saga’ will surely try to help avert this season. “We still have the rest of the season to go, so let’s not panic.” The Polish EURO 2008 player said post game.
