Arsenal FC forward, Robin van Persie has spoken out in support over Lukasz Fabianski’s poor performance against Chelsea in the FA Cup – reports sport.
“I believe he is a great goalkeeper. I see him everyday at the training ground and can honestly say that he is fantastic. He does not lack any courage, and is certainly in a position to help win us points.” stressed the Dutchman, after writing off Fabianski’s mediocre display which let Chelsea claim a 2:1 win, knocking Arsenal from the FA Cup. “He has a strong mentality, he knows what he wants and does not worry – he will definitely be able to climb back from this experience. The whole team believes and is behind Fabianksi.” added van Persie.
Unfortunately, Fabianski may not be able to correct his mistakes as Manuel Almunia, who was previously injured, is being rushed back to health in time for Saturday where the ‘Gooners’ will face off against Manchester United. As the numerous English media proclaims, ‘Fabs’ is simply not trusted to play such a high profile encounter with the ‘Red Devils’. Almunia was originally reported to be out of action due to injury for 2 weeks, but desperate times have called for desperate measures. Even with the team fully supporting the Polish international, the media and board room officials certainly don’t.
