On Friday in Switzerland the drawing phase for the UEFA Champions League elimination play-offs was held. The result pits Celtic Glasgow with Arsenal FC – with both clubs registering a Polish international goalkeeper.
The team from Celtic Park will likely use star player Artur Boruc to win a spot in the group stages. Meanwhile, across the barricades there will be an opportunity for a possible performance from another player of Leo Beenhakker – Lukasz Fabianski
Both goalkeepers are challenging each other for the number one spot on the international stage and will continue the rivalry in European cups.
Artur Boruc, who is recently regaining his former form will be eager to prove his critics wrong after an abysmal season. This will mark the perfect opportunity to do that and take on Fabainski.
At this stage there are a few other Polish players also competing in Europe. Marcin Wasilewski and his Anderlecht will seek a victory with the French Olympique Lyon while APOEL FC with Marcin Żewłakow, Kamil Kosowski and Adrian Sikora take on FC Copenhagen.
