POZNAN, Poland. Apr 22 (GW) — Franciszek Smuda recently spoke on the transfer of Robert Lewandowski. Interestingly, contrary to most other opinions, the Polish coach believes that the Lechite should still play in the country for another season.
The player on his possible transfer has already spoken to plenty of other “experts”. And the belief is that for the sake of his career, Lewandowski should go abroad – Smuda says the exact opposite.
“He should stay. This is an extraordinary guy, very laid back and without a silly head. Rarely are there such players like this. The Polish league and its level do not even cause a bother to such a player.” Smuda said in an interview in Poznan with Gazeta Wyborcza.
“Who knows whether regular games with Lech, especially in the cups, will not develop him more than play in some club abroad.”
Smuda realizes, however that the departure of the Lechite would been that there is no turning back. So he recommends for the 22-year-old to truly reflect on his options and choose wisely. However, he did not mention any club names.
The Polish striker has been linked to 3 abroad clubs: Borussia Dortmund, Blackburn Rovers FC and Genoa CFC.
Recently, a news story in Italy broke that Lewandowski had settled to sign with Genoa, but neither the club or the player’s agent have confirmed the story.
