NOVOSIBIRSK, Russia. Oct 11 (PS) — Wojciech Kowalewski seriously considering returning to his homeland.
The FC Sibir Novosibirsk goalkeeper is tired of waiting for the opportunity to play and wants to leave the Russian Premier League.
This means the former Poland representative is gearing up again to return to the Polish Ekstraklasa.
Kowalewski, who went to Siberia in January, lost his place in the team. For this reason, he has already taken steps to come around back to Poland.
“I had been talking about an early termination now,” reveals Kowalewski.
“If I leave Russia, then certainly I will go back to Poland. Together with my family we have had enough of wandering around the world.” added the former Legia Warsaw FC goalkeeper.
Kowalewski had already transferred from Russia to the Polish league. In the 2007-2008 season he moved from Spartak Moscow to Korona Kielce. Then again, he left abroad in search of a new challenge.
The 33-year-old Linked up with Iraklis Thessaloniki, which he later moved to Novosibirsk. Now who in Poland would embrace the returning ‘Gibbon’? Certainly Legia Warsaw FC could use a good goalkeeper, who can not always count on the skills of Marijan Antolovic.
Before his move to Russia, Kowalewski was already being tracked by Legia but chose for a higher paycheck in Siberia. Now returning to Poland, will he finally be able to rejoin the capital side?
