Żurawski thinking of retirement in May

KRAKOW, Poland. Oct 15 (PSN) — A bold statement has been made by Maciej Zurawski and his recent performances for the White Star.

The former Polish international is not happy with his game and is considering retirement if the situation does not change.

“If my game still will not satisfy me, so I may finish my career in May,” says the striker of Wisla Krakow. The Wisla star has already landed on the bench for the White Star.

Zurawski is disappointed with his game. Ever since he came back to Wisla he recorded only one goal in the Ekstraklasa.

“I have to admit that the pressures associated with my person is greater than during my first adventure with Wisla. What really worries me is that I can not meet the expectations of my own.” the 34-year-old tells Fakt.

Therefore, ‘Magic’ now would not rule out that in May of next year he will end his career. That’s when his contract binding him to Wisla Krakow ends.

“I’m not going to play in a different club. Time passes and you have to be well aware of this. I am no longer the player I was afew years ago. If my game will not satisfy me, I will not force for it to go on.” says the popular ‘Zuraw’.

Zurawski recently held a long conversation with the coach of Wisla.

“We found a new role for him,” says coach Robert Maaskant.

“There he will be played in every game in the starting line-up. I would like for it to help me in communication with the team. He has had a great career and still can help the younger players. It seems to me that the pressure from the fans overwhelmed him. Fans hail expected goals. It’s different, but Maciej did not deserve the whistling.” the White Star coach added.
