Bąk: Arboleda must play for Poland

WARSAW, Poland. Oct 16 (PSN) — Former Poland national team captain Jacek Bak thinks that Poland should nationalize KKS Lech Poznan’s Colombian defender Manuel Arboleda.

Bak believes a move like this would only improve the national team.

“The world is changing, everything is stirring or shaking, boundaries are being open up. If anyone wants to play for Poland, like Manuel Arboleda, while being better than a Pole at the game, let him on the team. What I’m saying is you need to take such players as Arboleda while the offer still stands!” Jacek Bak, a former Polish national team captain, tells Fakt.

The Colombian defender of Lech Poznan could be another naturalized player to play in the colors of the white and red. The defensive situation is the greatest trouble for coach Franciszek Smuda, and ‘Manu’ is very much like Franz’s son. Bak sees nothing wrong with the appearance of Manuel Arboleda on the kadra.

“I believe that if a player is good, he should play, regardless of the passport. Anyway, the young Polish players can learn something from him too,” says the 37-year-old, a former player.

“All you need is to just look at Manuel Arboleda. He’s a player ready to play in the strongest of European clubs.” ends Bak, who is no stranger to playing many top European oppositions in his career, who played for such sides as who as RC Lens and Olympique Lyon.

Recently Korona Kielce midfielder Aleksandar Vukovic admitted that Smuda for UEFA EURO 2012 will surely benefit from the services Arboleda, the top defender in Poland. Does this already mean that everyone in the Polish football environment already believes this will becomes a fact?

Only looking first glance at Arboleda, his skills surpass beyond the class of any Polish defender. For several years, he maintained tremendous great form. The question now is different: whether Poland should take and also allow anyone to join who is willing to play in our national team?

“We, the Poles, we like to go to extremes. To only one naturalized player, or the entire best eleven. Let’s not get crazy. Recently someone asked me about whether in the kadra should play Hernani, because he wants to. Let him want to, he is a very good player, but not everyone has to be at once a Polish representative. You saw what they did in Germany with it’s national team? I do not like it.” says Bogusław ‘Bobo’ Kaczmarek, a former assistant coach to Leo Beenhakker.
