ATHENS, Greece. Oct 24 (PSN) — AEK Athens FC in the most prestigious match of the Greek Super League defeated Panathinaikos FC 1-0.
Roger Guerreiro has proven himself to AEK’s new coach and started the match for the Kitrinomavroi.
AEK beat Panathinaikos thanks to a goal by Rafiq Djebboura in the fourth minute.
Roger played on the pitch until to the 74th minute, after which he was substituted by Leonardo. It was Panathinaikos’s first league defeat this season. Thanks to the victory AEK has jumped to third place in the Greek Super League table.
The Brazilian-Pole received a high note and praise from AEK coach Manolo Jiménez, who sees potential in the former Legia Warsaw FC player.
“He is still returning to form after spending a long while without regular play. However, he has shown today that he can be a helpful asset to AEK. He has a future here.” Jiménez said after the match.
“I’m very happy with him. He is showing me that he is serious about becoming a regular contender for a spot here.”
In another match in the 7th round of the Greek Super League Miroslaw Sznaucner sat through the entire match of PAOK FC and Panionios Athens on the bench.
PAOK defeated Panionios Athens 3:1. After seven rounds PAOK occupies only 11th place in the league.
