Smolarek suspended for 3 games

WARSAW, Poland. Apr 14 (PSN) – The match from the previous round between Polonia Warszawa and KKS Lech Poznań Euzebiusz Smolarek was red carded for violent conduct.

For the Black Shirts striker’s blow against Manuel Arboleda he has been suspended for three games.

After the match against Lech, Smolarek explained that he was in a rather unique way provoked by Arboleda.

The behavior of the Colombian enraged the former Borussia Dortmund striker so much that he violently knocked his rival in the neck – twice.

“If Arboleda think it is a ball game, let them continue doing so. I think every player would react as I do,” said Smolarek after being issued the red card.

The Ekstraklasa SA League Committee finally decided to suspend Smolarek for the upcoming three matches.
