TRABZON, Turkey — Adrian Mierzejewski has agreed a move to Saudi Arabian Champions Al Nassr for a sum of 6 million euros.
The move will go through on July 1st.
This is the record amount of money ever paid for a Polish player.
Ironically, the previous highest amount paid for a Polish player was also for Mierzejewski, when Trabzonspor gave Polonia Warszawa 5.25 million euros for him.
The Polish midfielder made a total of 84 appearances for Trabzonspor, scoring 9 goals.
His last outing for Poland was during a friendly in November last year, when he featured against Slovakia.
The move is likely to be good for Mierzejewski financially, but his Polish national team and general football ambitions are likely to be questioned.
