WARSAW, Poland. February 20 (PSN) – At least five friendlies and the Universiade in South Korea await the Polish womens national team before their 2017 UEFA European Championship Qualifiers.
The plan is to have more matches than previously before in 2014.
Like last year, the bialo-czerwoni will compete in the Istria Women’s Cup exhibition tournament in Croatia, where from March 4-11 they will face off the Republic of Ireland, Russia and Slovakia.
They will afterwards take on Finland on April 6 and France B on April 9 in Poland. On the other hand, in the first half of July the Polish national team will then take part in the Summer Universiade in the South Korean city of Gwangju.
In addition, talks are being held with Ireland, Portugal and Macedonia to schedule several more exhibition games.
In 2014 the Polish women’s national team played a record number of matches.
Counting the FIFA World Cup qualifiers, the women played an impressive total of 16 games.
This year will be even more games, which is to optimally allow the preparation of the bialo-czerwoni for their autumn qualifiers for the 2017 UEFA European Championships.
The group drawing will be on April 13.
Current schedule for 2015:
4-11.03.2015, Istria Women’s Cup, exhibition tournament (matches with Ireland, Russia and Slovakia)
