PLOCK, Poland. March 5 (PSN) – Wisla Plock are handling themselves very well in the 1 Liga this season with promotion almost in sight.
It’s no secret that everyone at the club strongly believes that Plock are firm candidates in moving up to the T-Mobile Ekstraklasa for next season.
For a club who last played in the top Polish division last in 2007, a chance like this may not come again for an unforeseen time.
“There may not be another opportunity for promotion like this. With the support of our fans, we should be able to achieve it.” said Jacek Kruszewski, president of Wisla Plock.
“We want for premier league football to return to Plock. It would be a great thing not only for Wisla, but also for the entire city.”
While promotion may be a very realistic objective this season, Plock head coach Marcin Kaczmarek has stressed to club supporters to not go completely overboard with the idea.
“If we can withstand the pressure now then at the end of the season in June, we should be very happy. But we have to take a healthy approach to this. I have already heard one of the fans chant: Ekstraklasa or death.”
“I strong disagree with using such slogans,”
Wisla currently ranks second in the 1 Liga league standings with 38 points after 11 wins, 5 draws and 3 losses.
