PALERMO, Italy. January 11 (PSN) – Thiago Cionek signed a contract with Serie A side U.S. Citta di Palermo on Monday.

The Poland international joins his new club on a free transfer.

The 29-year-old defender played in 15 matches this season in Serie B for Modeno FC. During this time he was a regular call-up for Adam Nawalka’s team.

Previously, in the past he made 91 appearances in the Ekstraklasa for the colours of Jagiellonia Bialystok.

Palermo currently occupy 16th place in the Serie A with 21 points. Previous Polish players who played for Palermo in the past were Kamil Glik and Radoslaw Matusiak.
