Official: Rakels Leaves Cracovia for Reading

KRAKOW, Poland. January 30 (PSN) – Deniss Rakels has left the Ekstraklasa to play for English side Reading FC.

The 23-year-old midfielder signed a contract until the summer 2018 with an option to extend by one year.

For the last two years he represented the club colours of Cracovia Krakow.

In the autumn round he appeared in twenty league matches in the Ekstraklasa, scoring a total of fifteen goals.

Rakels is the second top goal scorer in the league thus far below Legia Warsaw’s Nemanja Nikolic.

Reading FC is currently sitting in fifteenth place in the Football League Championship (English second tier). In 28 games this season the team has accumulated a total of 35 points.
