WARSAW, Poland. May 2 (PSN) – Legia Warsaw reached for their eighteenth title in the history of the Puchar Polski (Polish Cup) on Monday.

As a result the capital city team has already now secured their right to play in Europe next season.

The Legion defeated Lech Poznan 1:0 at the Stadion Narodowy in Warsaw on Monday.

The lone goal was scored by Aleksandar Prijovic, who also scored another lone winning goal over Lech in a league game several weeks back.

Legia has already appeared 24 cup finals to date. Both in the 2008 and 2011 finals their fate was decided by penalty kicks. In 2012 Legia won the final easily by overcoming Ruch Chorzow 3:0.

Things did not stop there. In May 2013 they outplayed Slask Wroclaw on aggregate, and a year ago at the Stadion Narodowy Legia also defeated Lech 2:1.
