Official: Besnik Hasi Joins Legia as New Head Coach

WARSAW, Poland. June 4 (PSN) – Besnik Hasi will be the new head coach of Legia Warsaw.

The 44 -year-old Albanian replaces Stanislav Cherchesov, which terminated his contract with the Ekstraklasa club by mutual agreement.

Hasi is a former player for KRC Genk, RSC Anderlecht and other Belgian clubs, and an international of Albania.

He has worked as a coach since 2008.

At Anderlecht – his first six years were as an assistant, and since March 2014 he became the first team manager.

A week ago, he ended his contract with the Belgian club with whom he had won a championship title (2014), vice (2016) and Super Cup (2014).

The new assistant coach of Legia is to be Aleksandar Vukovic, with Grzegorz Szamotulski also joining as a goalkeeping coach.

Veteran Krzysztof Dowhan will remain on the coaching staff. Included will be two new trainers refereed by Hasi – a game analyst and a physical preparation specialist.
