KRAKOW, Poland. August 25 (PSN) – The sale of Wisla Krakow to TS Wisla been finalized on Thursday.
This is the second change in ownership of the club from Kracow within a month.
News that the new potential owner of Wisla Krakow would be TS Wisla already broke on Monday in local media. TS Wisla bought all shares from Jakub Meresinski, who originally in July acquired them from Tele-Fonika and previous owner Boguslaw Cupial.
Meresinski was the owner of the club for less than a month – since July 29.
After the young businessman bought the club from Boguslaw Cupial, his troubles with the law started to take light. Meresinski is convicted of forging a certificate of completion of one of the high schools in Tychy, a matriculation certificate, and is also suspected of money laundering, embezzlement of significant value and participation in an organized criminal group.
Meresinski in obtaining Wisla had the help from Marek Citko. The two formed a partnership in order to fully buy out the club from Cupial.
Citko, a former Polish international, was responsible for the organization of the sports division of the Krakow club. Last Thursday he categorically distanced himself from Meresinski and stepped down from the position.
Current and potential sponsors of Wisla planned step away as well, all of which had submitted letters of intent to Meresinski shortly after purchasing the club.
TS Wisla, a local sports organization, originally led the football section of the White Star until December 1997, when the club began to be invested by Cupial’s Tele-Fonika.
