WARSAW, Poland. January 5 (PSN) – Daniel Chima Chukwu is the third reinforcement made by Legia Warsaw this winter.
The announcement was made on Twitter by club president Boguslaw Lesnodorski.
On Thursday, the Polish champions reached an agreement with the player, who arrived the day before to negotiate his contract.
The contract was signed on Wednesday and will take effect for three years. The forward will be appear with the number 27 on his jersey.
The Nigerian was previously a free agent who most recently played in China for Shanghai Shenxin. There he appeared in 49 games and fired 21 goals. Before then he played for Norwegian outfit Molde FK where he was first scouted by Legia during a UEFA Champions League qualifier.
Chukwu is the expected replacement for current club top goal scorer Nemanja Nikolic.
The Hungarian international was sold to the Chicago Fire of the MLS at the start of the winter transfer window.
