LUBLIN, Poland. June 16 (PSN) –The 2017 UEFA European Under-21 Championship finally begun on Friday but it was not the start many had hoped for.
Final score: Poland – Slovakia 1:2
The first game for Polish national team at the U21 European Championships despite much anticipation ended rather unsuccessful.
The bialo-czerwoni, despite the fact that they were leading the game from since the first minute, left the field without a point, losing to Slovakia 1:2 in Lublin.
The opening goal was scored by Ruch Chorzow’s Patryk Lipski. Later, however, viewers could only watch the Slovak fire in goals. Martin Skriniar first equalized, and afterwards the decisive goal for Slovakia was scored by Pavol Safranko off the bench.
On Monday Marcin Dorna’s team will play their second group game against Sweden, whom saw their first game tied 0:0 with England.
