POZNAN, Poland. June 28 (PSN) – Lech Poznan have finalized the loan of Deniss Rakels from Reading FC.
The Latvian signed a contract with the Kolejorz and has became yet another summer addition to the club.
Rakels can play as a forward or a winger on both flanks. He joins Nenad Bjelica’s squad for only a year loan, but his contract has an option to sign him up for a three-year deal.
The forward is certainly no stranger in the LOTTO Ekstraklasa. In the past he has worn already the colors of KGHM Zaglebie Lubin, GKS Katowice (1 Liga) and Cracovia, where he afterwards moved to Reading FC in January of last year.
Unfortunately, the past season was not very kind to him, as he only made two appearances in The Championship.
Rakels is already Lech’s fifth summer signing. Thus far, Nicklas Barkroth, Vernon De Marco, Emir Dilaver and Mario Situm have all been brought in to strengthen the squad. Moreover, Maciej Makuszewski has been bought out from Lechia Gdansk, and several other players have returned recently from their loans such as: Szymon Drewniak, Dariusz Formella, Robert Gumny, Kamil Jozwiak and Jakub Serafin.
