
VOLGOGRAD, Russia. June 27 (PSN) – Zbigniew Boniek, during an interview with Sebastian Mila on TVP, admitted that there is divisiveness within the Poland national team and not all players are happy to play alongside Robert Lewandowski.
The former Poland international, Sebastian Mila, held an interview with the PZPN president Zbigniew Boniek as a part of his “World Cup with Mila” program, which he produces for TVP Sport.
During this segment, the Polish FA president in a way admitted that there is divisiveness that exist within the national team and should be solved in their own circle.
“The team has changed over the last four years. These are cool guys, but before that there was another level of adrenaline and self-thinking. The successes have changed the national team.” Boniek admitted.
“Before, everyone liked the fact that they can play with Robert Lewandowski, as it was an added value. Today – I have to say with sadness – some are bothered by it. However, this is something that has to be solved by itself within this particular group.” the PZPN president noted.
The segment also touched on the issues of Poland’s failed 2018 FIFA World Cup campaign.
“I am sad because I have such a conviction that at our own request we say goodbye to the World Cup. Some mechanisms were missing. The vices of the Polish absurd begin to disturb this team. As always, the biggest blames are directed at the best. However, we are prepared for that.” said Boniek.
