WROCLAW, Poland. July 4 (PSN) – Slask Wroclaw have signed Farshad Ahmadzadeh as their latest big transfer of the summer.
The Iranian winger comes to the Silesian club on a free transfer basis.
This is a particular transfer that Slask have been carefully working on for the past few weeks, being the first club from Poland to sign a player from the Persian Gulf Pro League.
News of the transfer went live on Tuesday, as the club were able to make the deal official, not long afterwards the 25-year-old underwent his medical and signed a one-year contract with the option of extension.
Before coming to Poland, Ahmadzadeh played in one of the best clubs in Iran, having won twice the Persian championship with Persepolis FC. There he played in 98 matches, having scored 14 goals.
His final season in Iran before making a move to Europe was also quite successful, where he scored 6 goals in 23 games. However, despite this he has still yet to receive a call-up to the Iran national team, having only played at the junior international level in the past.
According to Transfermarkt, the web portal prices him at around 800,000 euro.
At Slask, he will compete for a place on the first team with Jakub Kosecki. Thus far, the Iranian is the sixth signing for the club in this summer transfer window.
Slask have to this point already signed midfielders Damian Gaska and Mateusz Radecki (both from Wigry Suwalki), Jakub Labojko (Rakow Czestochowa), defender Wojciech Golla (NEC Nijmegen) and a promising forward in Daniel Szczepan from GKS Jastrzebie.
