WARSAW, Poland. July 5 (PSN) – Carlitos has officially signed with Legia Warsaw.

The Spanish striker joined the Polish champions on a definite transfer from Wisla Krakow. The 28-year-old signed a three-year contract with Legia on Thursday.

For the transfer, Wisla Krakow have unofficially made around 500-600 thousand euros. Considering bonuses, that amount could go up to 1.1 million euros plus a percentage of the cut in Carlitos’ future transfer.

“We are excited about the fact that a player of this class has joined us. Carlitos was very keen to play for Legia and chose our club, despite having many other proposals.” said Legia general manager Ivan Kepcija.

“He had a great season, in which he scored 24 goals, and in addition to that he was real leader for his team. We are convinced that he will be a big reinforcement on the pitch and in the changing room.”

Last season Carlitos scored 24 goals in 36 matches and found himself as the 2017/2018 Ekstraklasa top goalscorer, quickly becoming one of the most desirable players in the league.

In addition to Legia, other sides such as Lech Poznan and Dinamo Zagreb also shown serious interest in obtaining his services. However, only Legia were able to financially meet his contractual demands.
