Large Indonesian Company to Sponsor Lechia Gdansk?

GDANSK, Poland. August 13 (PSN) – According to Polish media, Indonesian financial company PayTren could become the new main sponsor of Lechia Gdansk.

This is a direct result of Egy Maulana’s transfer the Ekstraklasa outfit.

“It is possible that the new main sponsor of Lechia will be from… Indonesia. The contract is to be valid for three years. The company is PayTren – the Asian equivalent of PayPal.” revealed Polsat’s Mateusz Borek.

What is Lechia’s response? The Baltic team indeed confirmed the report but have refrained from providing any further details regarding it.

“The club can confirm that an offer from PayTren has appeared. However, this does not change the fact that our long-term main sponsor is still Energa. We will not comment on the other details.” stated the press office of the Gdansk club.

The new sponsor would be a large cash injection for Lechia Gdansk, which has started the new season quite well. Under Piotr Stokowiec Lechia have eight points on their account and see themselves holding fourth place in the league standings after four rounds of play.

Interest from PayTren in sponsoring Lechia is certainly the result of Egy Maulana, who is considered a huge talent from Indonesia. It is worth noting that the enthusiasm generated from the young Indonesian signing with Lechia admittedly exceeded everyone’s expectations. Back in Maulana’s home country it only started a nation wide euphoria after it was announced that the talented midfielder would be playing in the Ekstraklasa.
