Ricardo Sa Pinto Announced as New Legia Coach

WARSAW, Poland. August 13 (PSN) – Ricardo Sa Pinto on Monday was announced as the new coach of Legia Warsaw.

The Portuguese will take over the duties from Dean Klafuric who was previously dismissed from the role.

Sa Pinto signed a three-year contract with the Polish champion, and will debut on the Legia’s coaching bench on Thursday in the second leg of the UEFA Europa League qualifying Third Round against F91 Dudelange.

Together with the 45-year-old, Legia will also see some new additions to its coaching staff. These will be assistant coach Rui Mota, goalkeepers coach Ricardo Pereira, and fitness coach Guilherme Gomes.

The former Portugal international during his coaching career has already led such clubs as Uniao Leiria, Sporting Lisbon, Red Star Belgrade, OFI Crete, Atromitos Athens, Belenenses, Al-Fateh and Standard Liege.
