KRAKOW, Poland. January 22 (PSN) – As per the decision by the PZPN Club Licensing Committee, Wisla Krakow’s LOTTO Ekstraklasa license has been renewed.
The Krakow club can be confident that it will be able to resume its league schedule, where it play its first 2019 league match against Gornik Zabrze. Which beforehand was in jeopardy of being decided as a walkover forfeit.
Earlier in the new year, Wisla Krakow had their league license suspended due to the club failing to meet league financial requirements due to its debt. Fortunately, two well known entrepreneurs along with Polish international Jakub Blaszczykowski have come to the club’s rescue in helping pay off some of its debt.
However, it is worth noting that despite the news of the license renewal, this still does not guarantee that Wisla could or will finish the season. If the Wisla administration fail to settle the remaining financial arrears the club is facing by the end of March, then the White Star’s license will be taken away.
Currently, the Krakow outfit sits in eighth place in the LOTTO Ekstraklasa league standings, holding 29 points to their name.
