PKO Ekstraklasa Round 14: Cracovia Leave it Last Minute Against Gdansk

KRAKOW, Poland. Nov 4 (PSN) –  Lechia Gdansk missed the mark away and it cost them points in the fourteenth round of the 2019/2020 PKO Ekstraklasa season.

The Gdansk side were defeated 0:1 on Saturday to Cracovia Krakow. The first half of the game in Krakow was generally not played at a high level. Neither team was able to create much to any goal opportunities, as most shots were taken from long distance and off target. Not much changed after the half. Most of the game was concentrated within the middle of the pitch and both the home and away sides used very little wing play. When it seemed inevitable that the match would end in a goalless draw, Cracovia managed to score the winning goal in extra time to everyone’s surprise. This resulted from Hanci’s cross from the right of the pitch, which saw Pelle van Amersfoort head the ball past Lechia’s goalkeeper for the lone goal. Thanks to this victory Michal Probierz’s team has taken a tremendous lead in the table, seeing them place second place for the time being.
