NAPOLI, Italy. December 10 (PSN) – Both Legia Warsaw and Lech Poznan took part in the UEFA Europa League group stage match day on Thursday.

Lech Poznan lost 0:1 to FC Basil while Legia’s European campaign came to a crushing end in a 2:5 defeat to the hands of Napoli.


Legia Warsaw said goodbye to the UEFA Europa League this season on Thursday. The Legion lost away to SSC Napoli 2:5 (0:2) and were eliminated from the competition. Goals for Italians were scored by Nathaniel Chalobah, Lorenzo Insigne José Callejón and two by Dries Mertens. The Polish capital club replied with goals from Stojan Vranjes and Alexander Prijovic.

Lech Poznan lost 0:1 at home (0:0) against FC Basel with the decisive goal for the visitors being scored in the 50th minute by Jean-Paul Boëtius. For Jan Urban’s team this was the fourth defeat to the Swiss club in this current season along – the Kolejorz during UEFA Champions League qualifying lost 1:3 and 0:1 to Basel, while in the first leg of the UEFA Europa League group stage were defeated 0:2.
