
MILAN, Italy. January 23 (PSN) – Krzysztof Piatek has joined AC Milan from Genoa, with Gonzalo Higuain cutting short his loan to head to Chelsea from Juventus.
The Polish forward signed a 4.5-year contract with the Rossoneri on Wednesday which will see him remain at the club until June 30, 2023.
With Gonzalo Higuain ending his loan spell at the club join Chelsea in a temporary switch until the end of the season, Milan were in need of a replacement striker.
The current 4th place Serie A side decided to pay the 35 million euros and acquire Piatek from Genoa CFC. In Milan, the Pole is expected to earn about 2 million euros a year.
The 22-year-old joined Genoa only six months ago from Cracovia for 4 million euros and immediately turned out to be a revelation in the Serie A. In 19 games played so far, he scored 13 goals and ranks amongst the most effective players in the current season.
Piatek’s press conference is set for tomorrow at 1:00pm at Milanello. After the press conference, Piatek will join his teammates for his first training session as a red and black player.
